How To Apply Concealer
script>
If you are applying to the under eye area, you want to conceal before applying your foundation. Because you are using concealer a shade lighter than your foundation in this area in order to brighten the eyes and highlight them, it can be a little too obvious and too bright if applied over the foundation. For this area, we are going to use a concealer brush, an almost mini version of the synthetic foundation brush with slightly stiffer bristles. Concealers are applied to cover dark circles around the eyes, thereby grweatly enhancing the appearance of the face.
They are matched to the skin tone and are applied before using the harmony foundation. When any product is applied around the eyes, special care must be taken so that the skin is not stretched. Surprisingly, many women shy away from using concealers because they don't know how to use them, or even why to use them. The big mystery to using a good concealer is to get the right color for your skin tone, and blend it in as much as possible. I generally get a lighter color for winter months, and a darker shade for summer when my face is more tanned.
You want your makeup to blend in with your own beautiful features, and the same rule applies to your concealer. If you are concerned as to what type of concealer or cover stick you may need to disguise imperfections that are a problem for you, here are some brief descriptions to help you make the right choice. Green cover sticks mask redness in the skin, such as pimples and veins. Yellow areas and pigmentation can be covered with a purple cover stick.
Dark under eye circles or bruise like marks can be disguised with an orange cover stick. Before you learn how to apply makeup, you need to know what kind of makeup you're applying. There's makeup for the face, eyes, eyebrows and lips. You certainly don't have to use makeup on all of your facial features, but you can. If you decide to use facial makeup, or concealer, make sure to get a concealer shade that matches your face. If you're concealer is too dark or too pale, it will stand out. If you have nice skin, you can bypass concealer or, you can apply it to areas that contain blemishes.
Start with a clean moisturized face. A liquid make up base has a lighter coverage and will give a more natural look. Use an oil-free one for an oily skin. If your skin is really dry, a cream based foundation may be better but blend it really well so there are no visible "edges".The biggest tip for a natural look is to match the base colour exactly with your skin tone.
This is so important. Test the colour under natural light to make sure and match to your jaw line rather than your wrist If you are doing black and white photos there are a few things to consider about color. For one thing red can show up as gray, unattractive splotches.
Choose neutral colors like copper and brown. Apply these three to four shads darker than you normally would. Black shows up as grey so for the same smoky eye effect you will really have to make it dark. Warm tones also show up a bit lighter that you would think, so try to imagine a red lipstick for its shade instead of color and don't forget to powder!
